Today is a sad day, first news was announced that âCharlieâs Angelâ Farrah Fawcett died at 62 due to a long battle of anal cancer, R.I.P. Then a more shocking news came in that the legendary King of Pop and style icon, Michael Jackson entered a cardiac arrest and later died at UCLA Medical Center. The cause of death is still unknown, theyâll be performing autopsy tomorrow. He was pronounced dead on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 2:26pm, he was 50.
Iâm still in shock, itâs crazy, I grew up listening and watching Michael Jackson, he was a true icon. Iâm watching âRemembering Michael Jacksonâ on CNN now.

H&M never fails to surprise me, news just released that they have tapped Jimmy Choo as the next designer guest collaboration to launch a collection of shoes, bags, accessories for both men and women, and a womenâs clothing collection to complement the accessories. This marks the first time that H&M is collaborating with an accessories brand, super exciting! The limited edition collection will be available from November 14, 2009 in around 200 H&M stores across the world. Start saving up!
âWe are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far, and to be designing a collection appealing to fashion savvy, street smart women, and to be including some great pieces for men, too. Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection - the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!â Tamara Mellon, Founder and President, Jimmy Choo.
âWe adore Jimmy Chooâs shoes and bags. They are glamorous and sexy, and they add instant style to the simplest of outfits. I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around. This collaboration is particularly exciting because itâs our first shoe designer collection. Itâs a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers.â Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor, H&M.
I simply can’t wait!

The black and white photos capture the designers in intimate portraits alongside models Raquel Zimmerman, Anna J, Arlenis & Coco Rocha. Each model is featured in one of Gap’s limited edition khaki designs. The portraits will be featured in select Gap stores nationwide, as well as in print and outdoor ads in select markets.

“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to offer a platform to our next generation of American design talent, raising awareness of their work around the world, while offering our customers access to their designsat an affordable price,” said Gap’s Executive Vice President of Design, Patrick Robinson. “I was particularly excited by the prospect of adding a new dimension to the project this year, by inviting the designers to work with khakis that are at the very heart of Gap. I love the way they’ve all successfully captured the spirit of Gap’s casual ease, while staying true to their own aesthetic, creating three super-desirable collections.”
In addition, at 10:30am on June 16th the collection is launching exclusively in NYC at the 54th & 5th flagship store location with an in-store event that will be open to the public. âSome journeys change mankind forever.â
Louis Vuitton commemorates the 40th anniversary of manâs conquest of the Moon, elevating the theme of travel as a personal journey to a celebration of a voyage of unsurpassed significance for all mankind. The latest Core Values advertising campaign features Buzz Aldrin, who in the course of the historic Apollo 11 mission with Neil Armstrong on 20th and 21st July 1969, became the second man to set foot upon the Moon; Jim Lovell, the commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission in 1970, who - as the world watched with bated breath - heroically guided his crew back to the safety of Earth; and Sally Ride, who in 1983 became the first American woman to venture into space as a crew member on Space Shuttle Challenger.
Once again shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, the campaign was shot on the high plateaux of the Californian desert, from where, on a clear night, the Moon takes on an almost supernatural intensity. The three astronauts are portrayed quietly surveying the sky from the battered pickup truck in which they have undertaken this journey together, each no doubt reliving an extraordinary memory. Beside them on the truck is Louis Vuittonâs Icare travel bag in Monogram canvas, an allusion to the mythological hero who also dreamed of flight. The tag line, in an echo of Neil Armstrongâs famous words in 1969, states: âSome journeys change mankind foreverâ.
Louis Vuitton is launching a dedicated website - louisvuittonjourneys.comâ on which Buzz Aldrin, Jim Lovell and Sally Ride discuss how the experience of space changed their lives, offering a fascinating insight into Annie Leibovitzâs print visual. The site attains a degree of interactivity that is unprecedented for Louis Vuitton, enabling internet users to view the interviews as if they were actually present by, for example, playing them in any order they want, zooming in on an individual astronaut, or viewing the reactions of one astronaut to what another is saying. The interviews, which were filmed with three separate movie cameras to create a strange, gravity-defying ambiance, as if the astronauts were indeed in space, can also be downloaded to a computer, MP3 or mobile phone. Also featured on louisvuittonjourneys.com is a making-of video of the interviews, as well as a focus on The Climate Project, spearheaded by Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore, to which Louis Vuitton is making a donation on behalf of the three astronauts.
The new Core Values visual will appear in the July 2009 issues of international titles, while louisvuittonjourneys.com will be launched by a video teaser on June 3rd ahead of its worldwide launch on July 2nd.

A surprise package arrived last week and guess what it was?! Yup, the much talked about Nylon Magazine x Nike Sportswear Dunk High in yellow!! I was getting a bit envious when I spotted a chick rockinâ the yellow pair after the Donna Karan show and then Mark âThe Cobrasnakeâ showing off his green pair at the Erin Wasson x RVCA presentation but now I donât have to be. The Dunks seems to be available in both womenâs and menâs sizes (I got a womenâs size), we can see now that not only are the nylon hightops emblazoned with Nylonâs logo on the tongue and outer side of the upper which is 3M, but also on the insole. At first I thought there were only two colorways, pink and green, then the yellow popped up- if this is a pattern with the Nylon logo perhaps there will be an orange and blue pair? Not quite sure about that as of yet, not much details were given as theyâre trying to keep it top secret! The Dunks wonât be available until June 2009, they are hot hot hot!

First off HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR to all my peeps, been sleepin’ on this blog for a min but I’m back!
A nice package was dropped off at my doorsteps this past weekend, inside was a âsuitcaseâ holding a pair of Nike x Coraline Dunk with movie props- the best thing is its in my size. These dope Dunks were made to celebrate Laikaâs (Nike CEO Phil Knightâs studio) first full-length animated film, Coraline, a story by Neil Gaiman and directed by Henry Selick (the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas). Taking the handcrafted style of the film as inspiration, this special edition features a unique hand sewn black visible seam on the upper ensuring each pair is unique. The hidden detail is the glow-in-the-dark sole which reflects the filmâs sense of curiosity. The props were made by the Laika artist and are hand painted, there are only 50 mouse and cat heads and they are 1 of 50 as each cat mouth is unique. For the film 100,000 cat mouths were created to show the cats expression and make it talk. Only 50 were used on these dunks and every one is different. The mouse and cat tails double as protection against jean stains, well at least Rob Heppler thinks so haha! Check the little hat prop, so cute! Super dope dunks, love all the props- these are so going on display! Big thanks to Rob Heppler and the Wieden + Kennedy 12 crew!
The Coraline Dunks will not be available for sale but you may get lucky and win them on the website if you go watch Coraline on February 6th- be sure to say after the credits for the secret code. Once you get the secret code, find the Nike shoe box in the Coraline bedroom or here: www.coraline.com/dunks. Good luck!

This is pair of Jimmy Choo x Hunter Wellington Boots is crazy, imagine splashing water in this embossed crocodile pattern with leopard print lining rain boots! It also features gold-metal buckles and rivets. The boot retails for $395 and will be sold in Jimmy Choo stores, website and in select wholesale accounts beginning next June. I thought we were in recession? Crazy, but theyâre hot!
âWe are delighted to work with Jimmy Choo to create a superbly sophisticated incarnation of our original Wellington boot,â said Hunter Chairman Peter Mullen. âBoth brands have a strong visual identity, which work well together. And the resulting boot has a unique DNA of luxurious practicality.â For her part, Jimmy Choo founder and President Tamara Mellon said she was inspired by the images of stylish British girls wearing wellies. âThis led to our collaboration with Hunter to produce a sleek interpretation of the British classic,â Mellon said. via WWD
