Earlier this month it was confirmed that Alexander McQueen will be designing a capsule collection for Target under their new fashion initiative called Designer Collaborations. Here is a quick preview of the McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection featuring Liela Moss as his muse, he said, âWe use icons in British music, and she stood out. Sheâs a great-looking girl and has a personal style. It fell into the idea of the New York underground music scene. It was more the atmosphere she portrays.â The range will launch in March 2009, I can hardly wait!
The collection has a muted color palette of black, white, gray and tan with accents of cobalt blue and bright pink. Studs and mesh give items an edge. There are studded jeans, shorts and denim jackets with asymmetrical closures, short tuxedo jackets and matching shorts, dresses in a blue and white painterly fabric, a one-shoulder dress in a gray-and-black zigzag pattern with a thick black belt, and a T-shirt with the image of Moss. The designerâs favorite pieces in the line include âthe pink and black pieces and the little prom dresses.â via WWD

This past Saturday, November 8th was the launch of the COMME des GARĂONS for H&M at the grand opening at Japanâs Harajuku location before all other stores worldwide. H&M Harajuku has approximately 1500㥠of sales space, spreading over four floors from basement to 3rd floor, displaying womenâs, menâs and accessories concepts aimed for the trend-conscious Harajuku clientele. Need I say more? Check out the video and pictures of the opening, âthe first customers started to line up Wednesday afternoon, three days ago, and have patiently been waiting for the opening.â The Ginza store in Japan and all other stores worldwide will release the long awaited COMME des GARĂONS for H&M collection on Thursday, November 13th!!!!!!

Remember rumors have been circulating that Alexander McQueen will be the next âTARGETâ to collaborate with the mass retailer on a capsule collection with their GO International initiative. Well things went a lil differentâŚ
This just in, WWD broke the news that âTarget in March will launch a new fashion initiative called Designer Collaborations. The program will bring the styles of well-established designers to the mass merchant at typical Target prices. Alexander McQueen is the first on deck and will design a version of his McQ collection called McQ Alexander McQueen for Target. The collection will have rock ânâ roll influences and edgy details such as studs and tattoo-print fabrics. Designer Initiative is a separate program from Targetâs Go International, which focuses on young or emerging designers. Target said additional Designer Collaborations will be announced in the future. Each collection will be available in stores for a limited time.â
I canât wait, this is got to be one of the best!!!

Last Thursday, October 30th was the big launch event for the new Playboy fragrances for men by Coty at The Hotel Rivington Penthouse. Christie Hefner (Chairman and CEO of Playboy), Bernd Beetz (CEO of Coty Inc.) and Steve Mormoris (SVP Global Marketing Coty Beauty) were there to celebrate the launch along with special guests- The Girls Next Door, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson. I was invited to attend the event and press conference to learn about the fragrances. The media got a chance to watch the behind the scenes from the commercials and also watched the actual commercials- theyâre very seductive and alluring, I really like them. The new Playboy fragrances for men âcapture the essence of four sophisticated and contemporary city lifestyles: Hollywood Playboy, Malibu Playboy, Miami Playboy and Vegas Playboyâ, their motto is âpress to playâ.

Gossip Girl Jessica Szohr and Me
This week passed by very quickly, perhaps it was because I was looking forward to the COMME des GARCONS for H&M party that took place Thursday, Oct 23rd at Espace. Before knowing where the event was going to be held, I thought it would be a press preview at the H&M showroom like the one they had in LA. Instead they threw an amazing party with an open bar, yummy hors dâoeuvres and desserts passed around throughout the night. Iâm not mad since Iâve already tried on the pieces at the showroom a couple of months back. I’m a huge fan of the tv show Gossip Girl, so when I was happy when I spotted Jessica Szohr (sheâs really nice and pretty), COMME des GARCONS for H&M campaign models: Cartwright Lee and Missy Rayder and Richie Rich but you can see the rest here- I didnât get to see Maggie Gyllenhaal though.
Besides all the distractions, all eyes on the COMME des GARCONS for H&M Collection, youâve seen it all already but Iâve shot close-ups of the actual garments with detailed pics of the limited $349 piece that everyone is talking about. I personally really really like it, I think the quality and construction of the suit/dress/jacket is amazing- the country manager of H&M was at the party dressed in that piece and it looked good- I want it!! All guests left with a gift bag, inside is the COMME des GARCONS for H&M Eau de Toilette (funny I checked eBay, I knew people would do this haha)! Great event as usual, big thanks to YM for helping me take pics!
H&M has also updated their website yesterday with the collection, prices (very reasonable) and locations of where to get each item- if you havenât checked you should check out the virtual showroom, pretty dope.

Last week when I went by to the Married to the MOB office, Leah has already shown me this dope pair of Dunk High joints that she designed with Nike. We spent some time talking about her inspirations on designing the Dunks and saw a few other samples that she had before deciding this pair was the âoneâ. Some of you may know that Iâm quite obsessed with Chanel, so once I saw the Dunks I already knew it was inspired by the Chanel tweed jackets. The collaboration is definitely a classic one, keeping it simple in white and black with a touch of patent resembling the patent tip of the Chanel flats. She finishes off with a bit of glam with the MOB golden clips on the lace flaps and MOB lace locks. Super hotness, I love it- def want a pair! Ladies donât sleep, this ish is fiyah! What are your thoughts?

Nooka has tapped Hellz Bellz to design a special edition unisex watch that showcases black metal mesh strap detail and a purple and blue design, with reminiscent of a galaxy far off in space. The celestial design is limited to 200 pieces and the suggested retail price is $300. Look out for the Hellz Zoo Watch come November, dope!

If you missed out on the first collaboration of the sea foam version, come November you will be able to cop this purple version. As you may know this season is all about purple so this new colorway is perfect. Finally a good look at the COMME des GARCONS for H&M Collection that is slated to release in Japan on November 8th and all other H&M markets on November 13th! Youâve got the first look back in August and a recent post about the limited edition piece from the collection that costs $349 which got the internet debating on itâs worth but hereâs the full collection preview from Hong Kongâs Ketchup magazine! The collection consists of womenâs, menâs and accessories along with perfume- quite an impressive collection. Iâve seen most of the pieces when I visited the H&M showroom last month and I was quite excited already but after viewing the full collection preview I seriously canât wait! Love the accessories (bag, wallet and scarf) and most of the womenâs pieces- look at the damn jackets (so nice!!), I may need to get up early and wait in line! Are you guys anticipating this collection to release? Will you line up? Donât sleep on this collaboration!!!
